The Canadian HIV/AIDS Network

OUR FUTURE SERVICES

  1. Get registered as the HIV/AIDS Support Network or the Canadian HIV/AIDS Network (under this name I will bring other orgs under my wings to help them get funding too). The main mission is to create a support network to everyone whether in a large town or rural area. Support can be achieved at library internet, at home internet, 1800 monitored HIV/AIDS "party phone line", pen pals, organized meetings to rural areas, etc. The secondary mission is to link all relevant web sites and organizations into one network hub. I have already started this project @ http://www.hivaidssearch.com and this database can easily be published into a booklet format for libraries and other needed places.

  2. Get funding that is waiting for my registering of not-for-profit-corporation at the Trillium Foundation

  3. Rent a store front.

  4. Convert storefront to office 5 offices (one office I need to run my heterosexual org , 1 office for gay org, one office for counseling and GBLT (Gay+Bi+Lebisan+Transgender=GBLT), one office for needle exchange, condoms, information, HOTLINE and call center, maybe compassion club), and recreational room (drop in) with access to computers for my internet support/network. I wish to have a little bit of everything all in one space.

  5. Poster Campaign: HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness. Main focus will be violence prevention that could cause infection (bar brawling, violent sports, etc). Other posters will be "Pick who is POZ", etc

  6. Find maintain staff/volunteers to monitor chat/guestbooks/forums/search engine/HOTLINE

  7. A Prevention Convention in every larger town will be booked (hopefully partnered with other safety risk groups such as Poison Control, teen safe sex, etc).  Fund raisers with entertainment will be held Nation wide in major cities

  8. Arrange a Prevention Tour for future where a bus travels across Canada to spread HIV/AIDS prevention (from clean needles to safe sex) stopping at small communities (large cities usually have enough resources, so we must bring the resources to the smaller forgotten communities) handing out condoms and pamphlets to everyone.

  9. Online shopping mall @ http://123shop.ca to raise funds and web hosting services @ http://argh.ca to raise funds as well

  10. Basic computer skills training for POZ (POZ=HIV+); workshops

  11. Get a HOTLINE (1800# for HIV/AIDS monitored chat telephone "party" line and office 800# )

  12. More to come to make a total support and prevention network with all know methods of communication
